WHAT TO EXPECT
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU!
We know that it can feel a bit daunting turning up somewhere for the first time, particularly if you don’t know what to expect. But we’d love to see you one Sunday, so here’s a quick heads up on what an average Sunday might look like.
There’s fresh coffee and tea served from 10am onwards and most people tend to arrive between 10am and 10:30am. If you’re driving then we have some reserved parking spaces for visitors, so you should be able to find a spot, even on a busy morning. We always have a couple of church members in the entrance foyer to say ‘hi’ and help you find your way in.
The service will begin at 10:30am, and usually starts with a song after which one of the leaders will welcome everyone and give a brief introduction. Most weeks we’ll sing worship songs to God for about 30 minutes, the words for the songs are projected onto a screen and people are free to join in or observe as they feel comfortable. After that we have a talk applying the message of the bible to everyday life.
We hope you feel comfortable and enjoy your time with us and would welcome you to stay at the end of the meeting for more tea & coffee and an opportunity to chat.
Children & Youth
We have dedicated groups each Sunday for 2-16 year olds and a creche area with toys at the back of the hall for parents with infants. All volunteers working with children and young people are DBS checked.
If your child would prefer to stay with you rather than attending a group then they are very welcome to do so.
Our Sunday gatherings are at the Wokingham Youth Centre. If you put the following address into your satnav it should bring you straight to us, 35 Reading Road, Wokingham, RG41 1EG.
You’ll know you’re in the right place because you’ll see our big blue ‘Kings Church’ banners at the entrance to the car park.
You don’t have to drive though, there are many different ways to get to church! We have a space for locking up bikes, but we are also located only a few minutes walk from Wokingham Station. Trains run regularly on a Sunday on the Reading to Gatwick and Reading to Waterloo lines. You can also get the bus to right outside the youth centre! The bus numbers are as follows: 123, 128, 129, 953, Lion 4 and Lion x4
