Short Thought 17: The Curse Reversed
There aresome strange and remarkable coincidences that have come to lihjy hidden in the chronology and etymology of the timing ofthe Ark's coming to reston the 17th day of the Month of Abib, which woud correspondi with Nissan 15-16 in 33 AD. Jesus lay in the ground on the anniversary of the day that Noah’s Ark had touched solid ground on the mountains of Ararat.
Ararat / אררט (#H780) was not a Hebrew word, but if it was it would come from ארר / arar (#H9) which means ‘a curse’, and yarat / ירט (#H3399) which means ‘to be contrary’ or ‘to turn over’. To the Hebrew ear and way of thinking, Ararat means, ‘a curse turned over’ or ‘a curse reversed’, which makes its date connection with Easter in 33 AD even more significant. Good Friday was the day the curse did its worst, Saturday was the day the curse was turned over, Easter Sunday was the start of a whole new era.
