Abraham's revelation of God

Nov 16, 2025    Christen Forster

Christen begins with personal anecdotes before launching into a detailed discussion of the "God Story," which aims to review the Bible through the lens of God's relational purpose. He addresses  Cain's crime and departure from God, the introduction of polygamy and power with Lamech, and the historical context of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel—drawing on archaeological and anthropological evidence to support the Biblical accounts.

The core of the sermon is an examination of Abraham's calling, journey, and the nature of his faith, arguing that his righteousness was based on his belief in the revelation of God (identified as the Word of God, or Jesus) rather than adherence to religious law. Finally, Christen connects this ancient history to the Christian concept of faith and relationship with God, suggesting Abraham’s experience laid the foundation for global monotheism and relationship-based faith.
