TGS19: The King

Celia starts with Jesus' baptism by John where divine approval was publicly declared. She continues with the temptation in the wilderness for forty days, where Jesus models complete obedience to God's word. Jesus then returns to Galilee and begins teaching in synagogues, notably proclaiming in Nazareth that he is the fulfillment of Old Testament messianic prophecies. Despite initial admiration, the hometown crowd becomes furious and hostile when Jesus challenges their expectations by emphasizing that God's boundless grace extends beyond familiar borders to outsiders. Ultimately, Jesus safely escapes their attempt to kill him, demonstrating that his divine mission of salvation and preaching the kingdom of God cannot be stopped.
