The Book of Galatians
Brad and Bitsy discuss Roger Forster's teaching on the Book of Galatians. Roger was Christen's dad and Roger's teaching series was used as an inspiration in the Sunday Teaching Series on Galatians unpacked in early 2025 by various speakers at Kings.
Roger focuses on the central conflict between living by the law and living by the spirit, arguing that adding legalistic requirements to Christianity essentially nullifies the gospel. Forster explains that justification and sanctification come solely through faith in Jesus Christ rather than through human efforts or ancient traditions.
He warns against "falling from grace," which he defines as losing the freedom and joy found in a spirit-led life by returning to restrictive, man-made systems. Throughout the sessions, he highlights Paul's pastoral heart, showing how the apostle sought to woo believers back to a sincere, loving relationship with God. Ultimately, the talks encourage a life of maturity in Christ, where believers embrace their status as sons and daughters who are empowered by the Holy Spirit.
