CHURCH SUMMER HOLIDAY
REVIVE '25
save the dates now!
2nd TO 9th AUGUST.
I know for many of us it’s far too early to be thinking about Christmas, however I want to talk briefly about an event next summer!
Revive is the summer “camp” for the Ichthus group of churches with which Christen is closely involved. At this year’s event a number of us stayed on site in the Christian retreat centre at Ashburnham near Battle in East Sussex. In addition several other families stayed in various types of accommodation off-site.
What we experienced was an uplifting, encouraging spiritual experience in a truly family orientated event. Like many of these festivals the programme was pretty full on, however nothing was obligatory and we all chose the sessions we wanted to attend. As a group from Kings we took the opportunity to spend time together often sharing our meals, so again a time to deepen our relationships. Those of us on site, either camping or in the variety of permanent bedrooms, stayed for the week, while those off site had to option to choose how many days they were involved.

Check in here from time to time to see details as they are released!
The site at Ashburnham is fabulous, we camped on a meadow sloping down to a huge lake (where the fearless could wild swim) and facing a wooded hillside with many walking paths. It’s also less than 100 miles away, so around 2 hours driving M25 permitting.
I would encourage you to plan to join us for all or part of this week in 2025. Applications are not yet open but it would be good to put the dates in your diaries.
Kings has tents that people can borrow and we can work through other logistics (food, transport etc) as we get closer to next summer. It may be possible to rent a caravan and have it delivered to the site, although it may already be a bit late for that option.
There are plenty of off-site accommodation options, I'll see if i can persuade one of those who used them to share there experiences too so watch out for more.
If you want to know more, please speak to Wendy or me (Nigel), or chat to Alice, Sandra, Spike, Tim or Tara, John or June H, Desmond or Rosie, or even Christen!
You keep an eye on Blogs section of the new website for more about this years highlights and next years camp.
