A Child Is Born

Those of us that went to Revive in te summer may well remember Ben Trigg, he was often leading leading worship. I created this video to go with this Christmas song a few years ago, which is why the video relates to day 2 of advent... but please enjoy the song on the song now on the 12th of December.

"His name, Jesus - God with Us ..." is the central meaning of Christmas. But what is remarkable is that the creator comes not as an all powerful deity, but as a vulnerable child.

I always find myself moved by the meaning of Christmas. God doesn't just sympathise with our condition, He empathises with us. Putting himself in our place to show us not just tell us the way out of mess.

To modify slightly a line from a great hymn...

"Tis mystery all, the immutable cries!"

Lord Jesus,

I thank you that you delight in us, you love us and you value us so much you are willing to join us, walk with us and share your life with us. Making us participators in your divine nature.

This Christmas, help me to appreciate you closeness not just your favours.
